“The Geomarket IT manager serves as the IT interface to the business. It is essential to have communication and people skills in order to understand the customers' needs and implement them into deliverables. I need to be a communication channel among many different people.
In addition, technical skills are greatly appreciated as it offers guidance to the IT Team Leaders.”

What does the future hold for your career in Schlumberger?

“The future holds excitement for my career in the company. Schlumberger offers many opportunities in different directions depending on how you want to develop your career with all the tools and resources that the company provides.
This is like having a set of Legos as a child. You can build so many different objects with a box of blocks.”

How has your background in IT helped you?

“My IT background has benefited me in two major ways. Firstly, the technical knowledge helps me to offer guidance to the IT Team leaders. Secondly, it helps me to offer solutions to the business when it comes to customers' needs.”

What kind of training have you received since you joined?

“In the beginning of my career, the main trainings I received were IT technical from the fixed step training. The technical trainings strengthened my job required skills and motivated me to expand my knowledge area.
Afterwards, the company provided me some great training courses that increased my management, communication and business processes skills (communication, active listening, finance, lean, etc...are key for daily operations).”

Why did you join Schlumberger?

“I joined Schlumberger in 2001 as an IT Service Desk analyst and only 6 months later, I was promoted IT Service Desk Team Leader. I was amazed how the company offered me increased responsibilities in such a short period of time. It is something unique that Schlumberger offers and attracted me - a self-career progression pace with a lot of opportunities.”

“Today, IT function is part of every company. All of the IT job descriptions could be the same at any company but experiences and opportunities you are able to carry at work are definitely different and unique in Schlumberger.
Since I've joined Schlumberger, I met so many different people from different cultures. The multi-cultural experience with many intelligent people from all over the world and the personal and career growth I have are the most valuable part of my life.”
