Career Profile: Graziella

After graduating with a doctorate in Computer Science from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Graziella joined Schlumberger in 2010 to work on a project related to seismic data quality analysis in the Research and Geoengineering Center, Rio de Janeiro.

“Over time, my responsibilities grew and I managed the development of a physics discipline for the Petrel E&P software platform. Currently, I am part of the Analytics team in Houston, building models and big data infrastructure to provide analytics for Schlumberger technologies.

“In 2015, I had the opportunity to present at the Schlumberger Digital Innovation Forum. Together with my manager we developed a concept. It was an amazing experience to have my idea selected and for it to be recognized as one of the top presentations in the Forum. The unique opportunities Schlumberger offers to its employees to share our opinions, visions and ideas, and to be appreciated for this are unbeatable.”

As a senior data scientist with a PhD in data mining, her day-to-day job involves combining and analyzing a variety of data. Among her interests, she actively participates in communities related to mathematics—control, system, robotics and automation—and is currently co-leading a Schlumberger knowledge-sharing community on the topics of Big Data, Analytics, and Artificial Intelligence.
