University Relations

Universities are a fundamental source of talent and ideas for Schlumberger. We understand that our image on campus depends on the quality and consistency of our relationships with students, faculty and administrators.

The Ambassador Program, consisting of a network of 60 universities worldwide, forms the core of our university relations program. Schlumberger managers act as Ambassadors for Schlumberger within the universities and for the universities within Schlumberger. This way, we ensure long term relations. If you would like to know more about the Schlumberger commitment to building strong relationships with universities worldwide, please contact us.

Enhancing the role of women in science and technology
One Schlumberger program, Faculty for the Future, encourages women to pursue academic careers in science and technology, by providing fellowships and logistical support. The long-term goal is to generate conditions that result in more women pursuing scientific disciplines. Grant recipients are selected as much for their leadership capabilities as for their scientific talents, and they are expected to return to their home countries to continue their academic careers and inspire other young women.

Offering software to universities
The Schlumberger Worldwide University Software Program offers software developed by Schlumberger Information Solutions to selected colleges and universities at minimal cost. The program provides three-year, renewable licenses; software maintenance; training; and technical support. Universities can use the software to instruct students as part of a course curriculum, or to conduct academic research. The software is not intended for commercial use by the universities.
