Inspiring Our Future Tech Leaders with Winning Ambassador Programs
So, what’s a career in oil and gas really like? Inventing, designing, engineering, applying, and maintaining technologies that help our customers find and produce oil and gas more efficiently and safely from pore to pipeline requires talent and innovation.
And we know one of the best places to find the talent needed to maintain technical leadership is within our network of leading Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics universities.
For nearly 20 years, Schlumberger has been developing and maintaining strong relationships with the world’s top universities in an effort to inspire students around the world to innovate and create what’s next.
With a dedicated team of Schlumberger managers who act as our Ambassadors within a network of around 70 universities worldwide, we make regular visits to campuses and organize visits for students to Schlumberger sites.
Penn State University Names Schlumberger as its 2017 Corporate Partner
Schlumberger was recently named Penn State University’s (PSU) Corporate Partner of the Year (CPOY) in recognition of our strong relationship and support of the university.
Steve Schwin, Schlumberger Ambassador for PSU, who accepted the CPOY award at a ceremony on campus, said, “Our Ambassador program enables our senior management team to work with a select group of world-class technical universities and colleges to build on our existing talent pool. Our partnership with PSU is a great example of this.
“Our programs are designed to enrich students’ learning through experiential, cutting-edge opportunities. We want to achieve the best outcome for students and to ensure the skills they learn are the most valued by prospective employers.
“As a Penn State class of ’84 Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering graduate, it is with great honor that I accept this award from one of the world’s leading technical universities.”
