Dynamic Pressure Management Field Engineer

Location: Neuquen - Argentina

The Dynamic Pressure Management (DPM) Field Engineer provides support to underbalanced drilling and managed pressure drilling projects including wellsite engineering tasks, and gives technical advice to the customer completing the drilling phase. The candidate must have an understanding of all aspects of drilling operations, drilling engineering topics and conventional well control. The position reports to the field service manager.

Successful DPM Field Engineers are competent in the use of drilling engineering calculating programs and related software. Service quality, job preparation and planning, and job safety are their key priorities. They are logical, use proactive analytical skills and have excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word. They learn quickly and are motivated and career oriented with the ability to work long irregular hours under stressful situations in a field environment. They pursue everything with energy, drive and a need to finish. They can communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers and have good oral and written communicaiton skills.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Participates in equipment operation and maintenance related training.
  • Assists in providing engineering office support.
  • Mentors new personnel on duties and responsibilities related to wellsite engineering.
  • Provide wellsite engineering support to common operations with minimal support.
  • Assists in improving and developing new standard processes and procedures.
  • Gives technical orientation presentations to field personnel.
  • Interfaces with various data acquisition systems.
  • Constantly monitors, maintains, and calibrates equipment on site.
  • Performs diagnostics, trouble shoots, and maintains essential inventory and replacement parts.
  • Manages customer relationship and expectations on-site and demonstrates and explains  managed pressure drilling technology.
  • Recommends new approaches or specifications for new and existing equipment, software and procedures.
  • Delivers end of well report after the service being released or well coming to an end.
  • Gathers information from the operations department.
  • Completes dailiy reports.
  • Interprets specialty data and drilling engineering calculations.
  • Visits rigs and inspects locations.
  • Fulfills an operational site supervisor’s role, and administers the daily progress of well operations.
  • Prepares and implements procedures, checks fluids and monitors corrosion.
  • Ensures all corporate and regulatory QHSE standards and objectives are met.
  • Conducts and coordinates all aspects of HARCs reviews.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor of science degree in mechanical, electronic or aeronautical engineering.
  • Minimum five years’ experience in well construction and intervention in drilling engineering or operations.
