Senior Reservoir Geologist

Location: Bogota, Colombia
Degree: Bachelors, Geological Engineering
Institute: Universidad Central de Venezuela
Start Date: 2007
"I am focused on life balance: good work, healthy family, and great personal life."

Juan began his career in 1991 and has worked as a geologist for a national and several international oil companies in Venezuela and also in the USA. He joined the Schlumberger Integrated Project Management (IPM) organization in 2007.

Juan is currently responsible for reservoir modeling, characterization, development, and production geology activities of a project to revitalize a mature field onshore Colombia. His work includes integration of 3D seismic and geological interpretations; stratigraphic validation; advising waterflooding strategies; identifying new drilling and workover opportunities; supporting stimulation and fracturing solutions; and mentoring junior geologists.

I had three main reasons to join Schlumberger: the company’s capability to re-invent business and identify new business niches for developing; the strongest research and engineering organization of any service company in the oil & gas business; and its unique multiculturalism and presence around the world; which open opportunities for both professional growth and family exposure to different cultures.
