Mine Mechanic

Battle Mountain - United States

The Mechanic is responsible to maintaining and working on large wheeled equipment typically found in open pit mines.  Typical work week is Monday – Friday.  The team meets in Battle Mountain and rives together in a company vehicle and then returns to BM about 4:30 PM

Successful Position holders are excellent communicators, enjoys working with hands, work well in teams and is mechanically inclined.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Ability to perform routine preventive maintenance
  • Changing tires, brakes and assisting in major repairs.
  • The ability to use computers to diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Preform Preventive Maintenance: Grease, change oil, look for defects during the service, torque drain plugs.
  • Determine if work areas are safe
  • Observe all safety rules
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • At least 3 years industrial maintenance experience
  • Working with open pit mine equipment a plus and work with diesel engines.
  • Safety conscious, self-motivated, proficient communication skills, long-term career goals, exceptional work ethic.
  • Must have your own tools.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
