Software Security Engineer - IT Security

We are seeking a web application developer who will be in charge of four in-house developed web applications. The person will be responsible for maintaining the systems the applications run on, implementing new features, and handling L3 support issues. The person will work closely with other members of the Cyber Security Engineering team to develop and to improve workflow related to identity and access provisioning within the enterprise. The person will also support the team’s reporting needs not already addressed by the dedicated report team (IT Reporter). The candidate must be familiar with at least one programming language (Java strongly preferred) and with concepts of software engineering, web technologies, and information security. The candidate must have experience building web client-server applications. We need a creative, proactive engineer who wants to develop efficient, productive, and compelling interfaces for systems.

The position also entails being a secondary service support contact for Corporate Badge and ePAC programs. He/She reports to IT Security Automation and Tooling Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineering and L3 operational support for 4 in-house developed web applications. Responsibilities include application development, bug fix, L3 support and system maintenance. The 4 web applications and portals are:
    • SecureConnect (employee entitlement provisioning portal)
    • Contractor Access (external contractor access management portal)
    • Corporate Badge portal
    • XAP Portal (firewall request and application management portal)
  • Secondary support of ETL (Extract-Transform-Load) engine and ad-hoc reporting platform
  • Secondary support for Corporate Badge.
  • Secondary support contact for global ePACS (Enterprise Physical Access Control Systems)

Qualifications and Experience:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering or Computer Science or similar degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in web application development.
  • 3-5 years of IT Operations or relevant experience.

Additional:         

  • Programing certifications are a plus
  • Security certifications like CISA, CISSP are a plus
  • Microsoft, Linux or networking certifications are a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • Experience developing web application using Java EE, JavaScript, Ajax, HTML, CSS, MVC frameworks, ORM frameworks is required.
  • Experience developing code using JQuery, HTML5, JSF, PrimeFaces, and Bootstrap is required.
  • Familiar with Java development tools, JDK 6 & 7, NetBeans IDE 7.
  • Administration experience with Apache Tomcat, Windows SQL Server 2012 and above, and Windows Server 2012 and above.
  • Experience developing SharePoint 2010 workflows with SharePoint designer and InfoPath.
  • Familiar and some knowledge of contactless smart cards, proximity cards and RFID technology.
  • Familiar and some knowledge of Physical Access Control Systems (PACS).
  • Knowledge and experience with Lenel OnGuard 2013 Enterprise is a strong plus.
  • For the current ETL engine and ad-hoc reporting tool, a basic knowledge of VBScript and SQL is required. However, this platform can easily be ported to a different technology.

  • Experience leading small to medium size projects
  • Fluency in English
  • Reports to IT Security Automation and Tooling Manager
  • Candidates must be located and legally authorized to work in Colombia
