Special innovation events, such as the Fizz Forum, foster and celebrate the pioneering spirit of our highly skilled employees, actively encouraging our teams to think out of the box, where each proposal is reviewed on its merits—no matter how focused or broad its scope.
The annual Schlumberger Fizz Forum in the heart of Silicon Valley attracts participation from employees worldwide. The best ideas of digital technology innovation are selected by a specially appointed panel, and once the finalists are announced, they have a few weeks to perfect their pitch with the help of a supportive technical community, before joining their peers in this exciting Forum. At the two-day 2019 Forum, 24 ideas were presented in the style of TED Talks by participants from India, China, France, UK, and the US, to an audience of technical experts and technology and executive leadership teams. .
In addition to competing for awards in various categories, participants have the opportunity to speak and network with digital technology experts and leadership teams. Participants also attend presentations by our partners from the Valley on the latest innovations in the tech industry, covering topics such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), high-performance cloud computing, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), cybersecurity, industrial internet of things (IIoT), and more.
The Fizz Forum is just one of the channels we use to stimulate innovation across the company towards our Technology4.0 ambition, and forms part of Schlumberger’s INSPIRE events series.
