Can you briefly describe your career to date?

Why did you decide to join Schlumberger?
“I have always had a strong taste for adventure and used to love backpacking and exploring new countries and cultures during my holidays. I immediately got very excited when I first heard that Schlumberger operates in more than 85 countries.”
Can you describe a typical day for you?
“In a nutshell, I find the right supplier at the right price and quality. A typical day would entail spend analysis, contract negotiation, gathering new product information through supplier and market analysis, managing the qualification of new products. I am a key interface between the internal stakeholders and external suppliers, and get exposed to a very wide range of challenges.”
What do you enjoy most about working for Schlumberger?
“In Schlumberger it is really easy to get support from anybody and from anywhere in the world. I work very closely on process and supplier qualification projects with colleagues based in China, France or in the US. I really enjoy the strong team spirit in the company.”
What types of challenges do you face in your job?
“I get to work with many internal and external stakeholders who all have their own sets of requirements. One of the key challenges is to maintain the highest level of service to satisfy my internal stakeholders.”
What is the training like at Schlumberger?
“I participated in a multitude of class-based training including soft skill and management trainings that I really enjoyed. I also conducted a project on top of my day-to-day job, which was interesting but also very intensive. This training program also involved time in Texas, Gabon, China and Scotland which gave the opportunity to see others Schlumberger locations.”
What advice would you give to someone considering a career at Schlumberger?
“My advice would be to be open minded, passionate about what you do and always challenge the way you do things.”
