Technical Sales Representative

Midland - United States

Technical Sales Representative – to develop and grow the Drilling Fluids, Wellbore Productivity, Solids Control and Managed Pressure Drilling businesses in line with local business strategies and aligning organizational resources to effectively meet our customer needs. Identify market opportunities and lead sales efforts in the region, develop and implement customer account strategies in cooperation with the operations team.

He/She reports to the Regional Sales Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Increase revenue through direct sales activities.
  • Lead local growth of new and existing customers within the area.
  • Develop, maintain and implement account plans for new and existing customers.
  • Develop and implement proposals against RFQ or customer defined needs; negotiate customer contracts as required.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers, Operations, Regional Management for all applicable M-I SWACO product lines.
  • Manage integrated regional business unit relationships ensuring effective use of resources and capabilities aligned to local operations protocol and standards.
  • Monitor market and pricing trends as well as competitor activities and report accordingly.
  • Participate in the development of regional pricing strategies.
  • Lead or assist in the resolution of customer concerns and/or disputes.

Qualifications & Experience;

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales experience and an understanding of marketing concepts.
  • Industry knowledge in the primary markets of drilling fluids, completion fluids, MPD, and solids control equipment/services.
  • A technical or business degree preferred.
  • Excellent sales, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent Technical skills in problem solving and providing solutions.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship.
