Senior Electrical Engineer

Under general direction to the TLM Electrical Team lead or TLM Manager of a product line, provide engineering skills to provide innovative and cost-effective solutions for developing technology improvements to commercial products.  Assist in planning, conducting, and evaluating approaches to meet the project objectives in a timely fashion.  Work independently based on objectives defined per individual or team criteria.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support manufacturing production / field operation technical challenges (evaluation of non-conformances, requests for process improvements, identification of design risks)
  • Complete root cause analysis of failure modes occurring in either manufacturing production or field operations for electrical technologies (understand and identify physics of failure)
  • Participate in new/existing technology design reviews
  • Independently execute testing to validate any new design iterations or production changes
  • Participate in global technical community (Eureka) by sharing expertise (authoring papers, lessons learned, or best practices)
  • Mentor younger electrical engineers, as applicable, based on technical expertise gained in external organization
  • Comply with applicable company policies (Personnel, Quality System, Health/Safety/Environment standards and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Digital and analog electronics, PWA design
  • Test engineering and design for manufacturability/testability/reliability 
  • Must have 5+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering
  • Electronics troubleshooting techniques, root cause analysis, and physics of failure methodology
  • Embedded software development (with DSPs, uControllers, and/or FPGAs),
  • Motor design / testing /manufacture
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) or higher in Electrical Engineering
