Drilling Engineer

The Drilling Engineer is responsible for well engineering and operations support for one or more rigs including preparing Well Proposals, Basis of Designs, Well Programs (Completion, Workover and Abandonment), AFE's and End of Well Reports. Supervises and mentors FET's and junior engineers. 

Main Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Perform offset well analysis 
  • Prepares the Well Proposal and Basis of Design and follows the execution of programs technically 
  • Performs casing and tubing design including using TDAS software 
  • Prepares Well Programs and timely End-of-Well reports 
  • AFE preparation and tracking for each well. Review plan vs real with financial department. 
  • Participates in cost control of programs Vs AFE by analysing solutions. 
  • Participate in selection and evaluation of service companies, suppliers and equipment 
  • Ensures proper communication with relevant parties (client, segments, third parties, etc) 
  • Leader in CARE process for all critical operations and activities. 
  • Reviews new technology for possible application to project 
  • Uses InTouch for best practices, lessons learned and technical alerts 
  • During well operations compile EOWR’s for service provided during the execution and delivery to the client using official letter. 
  • Review daily DDR reports in well track to ensure information is correctly reported, according MOC’s, Notas Informativas. 
  • Is responsible to keep the information updated and in order and for easy access, keeping the latest document version and erasing old versions. 
  • Gather all information or data of any failure, services quality issues or incident. This information shall be trustworthy with all its parameters and prepare “Nota Informativa” (NI) if needed. 
  • Provide support and coaching to FET assigned to the Project.

Minimum Job Qualifications and Competencies:

  • Bacherlor, MSc or PhD in Pretroleum Engineer, Chemichal Engineer, Mechanic Engineer or related fields 
  • 8-10+ years of Drilling Engineer/Well Engineer Experience 
  • Extensive experience in Drilling Operations (in areas such as Well Design, Planning, Contruction) 
  • Enough knowledge in Drilling equipment and tools 
  • Availability to travel or relocate
