Summary:

The Sourcing Leader is responsible for managing the sourcing process for a GeoUnit to deliver optimal product and service cost, and a high-performance, risk-managed supply base in line with the business requirements. This also includes Supplier management for SM3, processing customer orders, handling order entry and shipment scheduling, performs necessary functions to meet customer requirements on a timely basis.

Responsibilities:

  1. Create sourcing plans that reduce cost, secure supply and minimize supply chain disruptions, aligned with category strategies.
  2. Develop action plans, timelines and resource assignments for sourcing projects, including the assignment of projects to the Global Sourcing Centers if appropriate.
  3. In the GeoUnit, manage sourcing activities to support the Division GU P&SC direct spend requirements and local requirements for the GeoUnit.
  4. For Division GU P&SC direct spend, support through the identification of suppliers, RFQ and engaging the GSC and other stakeholders as required.
  5. Define a high-performance supply base for locally managed commodities.
  6. Lead the request for information, quotation, proposal and bidding processes, minimizing risk and maximizing value in terms of quality, delivery and total cost of ownership.
  7. Lead the supplier evaluation and selection processes, in coordination with Supplier Quality teams, Supplier Managers and Division stakeholders. Ensure all decisions for selection and onboarding are documented.
  8. Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to meet quality, delivery and cost objectives.
  9. Lead the contracting process with suppliers in coordination with Supply Chain Contract Specialists.
  10. Engage suppliers for RFx and allocate spend in line with the Global Category Strategy.
  11. Monitor sourcing projects to ensure on-time completion and full implementation, including all Purchasing data required to transact.
  12. Comply with all Schlumberger and local procedures applicable to the job function. Ensure full compliance throughout the GeoUnit or Center with Schlumberger Financial Manual and Sourcing Procedures.
  13. Lead regular management reviews, using scorecards with the main performance indicators, strategic positioning evaluation, three-year business perspectives, and strategic product and market developments.
  14. Review and maintain open purchase orders (POs) until closed; ensuring compliance with procurement procedures and ensuring that all transactions are done in accordance with agreed terms and conditions. Place and Manage Intercompany PO as required.
  15. Coordinate orders and shipments between Manufacturing and customers.
  16. Interface with departments handling activities such as credit and collections, sales, shipping and purchasing to ensure effective and timely service to customer.
  17. Customer relationship management - Track and report to customer and sales staff delivery date, anticipated delays, conflicting terms and conditions of customer purchase orders.
  18. Use the guiding principles and tools of the Manufacturing System to drive continuous improvement, wherever applicable.
  19. Responsible for Customer Sales Order management for VPS Spares business and manage 3rd party Vendor PO.
  20. Provide monthly updates on revenue

Requirements:

  1. Minimum bachelor degree in Engineering or Supply Chain equivalent.
  2. Minimum 3 years in Sourcing/Supply Chain roles.
  3. Must have good presentation, communication, and technical writing skills.
  4. Must be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and meet established deadlines.
  5. Able to effectively contribute to a team.
  6. Have working rights in Malaysia.
  7. Willing to be based in Kuala Lumpur and open to international travels.
  8. Proficient in Malay, Mandarin and English spoken and written language.
