Job Summary:

In the scope of the global project of virtualizing our product, we need to build models of our product in the Oil & Gas environment (High Temperature up to 200degC, shocks during drilling, etc.) 

One of the pillar of virtualization is to have accurate models, of the materials we use, their behavior in a harsh environment. 

Building models of the materials behaviours, is an enabler for Finite Element Analysis team to predict with accuracy the reliability of one design. 

 

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Objective of the internship is to build models of the material(s) behavior(s) that will be used by Finite Element Analysis team. 
  • During the internship, the intern will characterize the materials for Elongation, Shear, Shocks, Bending, Fatigue, for different temperatures up to 200degC. 
  • The intern will define the standard to follow if it exists, and if NOT will define the method of test. 
  • The intern will define the tooling needed for the tests and manage procurement of the tooling. 
  • The intern will do the test with the equipment available in the lab 
  • The intern will discuss with different teams: FEA team based in Houston and France, Electronic board packaging team based in France 

Qualification:

  • Master’s degree – 2nd year or final year of Engineering School

 

Competencies:

Have a Materials background (metallic materials, fatigue behavior, ...)- Knows test equipment (traction machine, DMA/TMA, …),- have already done or at least have some basic knowledge of Finite Element Analysis,- Have common sense,- Eager to learn, to be trained on new test equipment / software, about new technologies, ...
