Mechanical Engineering Intern - Preventive Maintenance Analysis for High Pressure and High Temperature Test Vessels (6 months)
We are Schlumberger, the leading provider of technology and services to the energy industry. Throughout much of the oil and gas lifecycle in over 120 countries; we design, develop, and deliver technology and services that transforms how work is done.
We define the boundaries of the industry by unleashing our talented people’s energy. We’re looking for innovators to join our diverse community of colleagues and develop new solutions and push the limits of what’s possible. If you share our passion for discovery and want to find out what you could really do, then here is the place to do it.
The Schlumberger test facilities in Clamart is operating 8 High Pressure and High temperature pressure vessels used to perform environmental tests on the equipment that is being developed and produced by Schlumberger. Through a modernization campaign initiated in 2020 with Schneider Electric, the control system for these installations was upgraded to a new version that allows to integrate a preventive maintenance analysis software built into the control system.
Several studies were done in the past years to extract data from the temperature system in order to allow a better preventive maintenance planification. These analysis would need to be reviewed, extended to the pressure system and integrated into the solution proposed by Schneider Electric.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Through this internship the candidate will need to get a comprehensive understanding on how the High Pressure and High Temperature installations are operating in order to be able to extract meaningful data for a maintenance analysis monitoring software.
He will need to work in cooperation with the Schlumberger Test facilities personnel and Schneider Electric in order integrate this data in the current control system, using the tools available in the Schneider Electric software suite (AVEVA with Control Expert).
The objective is to have pilot installed on a running installation in order to demonstrate its value added before it is deployed on other running installations.
This internship will be the opportunity to get comprehensive and technical understanding on state of the art High Pressure and High Temperature pressure vessels installations. It will also require the student to work in coordination with Schneider Electric and benefit from their technical expertise on the subject.
