Job Summary:

Working within a 40-strong commercial software development team based in our Abingdon Technology Center, you will be investigating how we can use AI/ML techniques to improve our "time step selection" algorithms within a simulation application. You will develop AI/ML scripts or code to select more effective time-step sizes, and also dynamically decide when to use these AI/ML time-steps.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

Over the internship you will interact with industry leading professionals working in the same commercial application. You'll learn about simulation technology and its role in the energy industry. You'll capture your findings in a written report and presentation to a wide audience.

Qualifications:

Penultimate or final year student, studying towards Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.

  • Data science
  • Machine learning

Experience in one of the following would be advantageous

  • C++
  • Python
