Computer Science Intern (3-6 Months) - Digital signal processing for gravity and magnetic datasets

The internship is aimed at implementing signal processing algorithms for multi-resolution spatial analysis of potential field (gravity and magnetic) datasets. Potential field data are exploration techniques used for subsurface characterization for natural resource identification, including geothermal. Specifically, the candidate will work with image processing algorithms, such as 2D wavelet transform, targeting the separation in space and wavelength domains of the potential field signal. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on real datasets acquired in different geological settings.
Penultimate or final year student, studying towards Bachelors or Masters in Telecommunication or Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or related field.
