Radiation Safety Officer

The Radiation Safety Officer is responsible for executing the Schlumberger Radiation Regulatory Compliance program and its components, and provide general support on compliance issues to internal clients and stakeholders within the assigned geographic territory, métier or sub-specialization.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop line and other managers' awareness and ensure radiation regulatory compliance is an integral part of responsibilities and objectives.
  • Gain and maintain up-to-date knowledge of laws and regulations affecting local operations.
  • Coordinate the document gathering and submission processes for radiation regulatory licenses and permits.
  • Maintain radiation regulatory compliance documentation.
  • Support the preparation of reports to management and to radiation regulatory bodies within set time targets.
  • Implement procedural modifications based on changes in local laws and regulations.
  • Report radiation regulatory compliance incidents in QUEST.
  • Participate in external and internal radiation regulatory audits and inspections and ensure all remedial actions are documented and closed in a timely manner.
  • Advise management on corrective actions required.
  • Help develop and provide awareness training to employees on processes for internal and external radiation regulatory compliance requirements.

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree/equivalent. Engineering degree preferred
  • Experience in Radiation regulatory compliance
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and Power BI applications
  • Must be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Teamwork skills
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
