Job title:

Analytical Chemistry Technician/Technologist

Location:

Clamart, France

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Works with engineers and technicians on the set up, execution and data reporting for routine, non-routine and complex tests
  • Collects, organizes and prepares short reports on data from tests, including analysis and conclusions
  • Assists the team members in the product design. Works with Manufacturing to resolve problems related to product design. May include reviewing redlined production drawings or auditing manufacturing processes
  • Fabricates, builds, disassembles, troubleshoots and repairs of laboratory or field test prototypes, including processing necessary manufacturing and purchasing paperwork, and following up on orders with suppliers
  • Maintains an engineering notebook of all significant activities
  • Keeps the assigned laboratory clean and organized; helps organize equipment and set up the lab; ensures that the lab equipment is calibrated, in working order and remains compliant to safety standards and orderly. Makes sure critical material and supplies are always available. Maintains thorough lab book
  • Strictly adheres to safety requirements and assumes safety leadership in the work area
  • May instruct other technical personnel

Qualifications and competencies:

  • BUT/DUT Physics Engineering/Analytical Chemistry
  • Good communication skills, written and verbal
  • English language proficiency
  • Familiarity with laboratory techniques and practices
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and multi-task within an environment of shifting deadlines and demands
  • Takes initiative and is proactive in addressing issues. Quickly and efficiently completes tasks
  • The ability to demonstrate conscientiousness, dependability and commitment to the role, team and company
  • Able to work independently and within a team setting
  • Willing to learn and implement process/product improvements
  • These competencies are required:
    • Some analytical laboratory experience performing tests with special instruments like analytical equipment with a strong understanding of test equipment and measurements
    • Basic computer skills, including MS Excel, MS Word, and Outlook
  • Experience with the following is a plus:
    • Familiarity with Gas Chromatography, Spectrometry
