About this role
A Cloud Engineer is responsible for assessing an existing application and its infrastructure and then migrating it to a cloud-based solution.  The Cloud Engineer will work closely with Application teams and the Cloud Enablement team members, who set Cloud related initiatives, standards and guidelines.   
 
Activities include, but not limited to: 
Implementation of Cloud architecture, development, design and adoption of Cloud solutions  
Supporting teams in their cloud modernization journey migrating their applications from legacy architectures to cloud ready/cloud native design  
Providing guidance on Cloud specific design considerations for these modernization projects.  
Participating in new solution design for Cloud ready applications. 
Conduct various POCs on different IaaS, PaaS & SaaS offerings 
 
Qualifications and Requirements 
 
Essential qualifications & Technical skills 
 
Bachelor's degree, M.Sc. or equivalent in Computer Science, IT or related  
Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience, with Cloud Solutions experience 
Experience in Application & Server upgrades/migration and infrastructure design including architectural knowledge in Clusters, Fault Tolerance, High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Virtualization and Containers 
Experience designing and developing solutions on at least one of the following Cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform  
Experienced in several of our Application Technology Stack: ASP.NET Core and a strong proficiency in at least one of the following Perl, PowerShell, Python or Shell Scripting 
Operating System: Windows Server 2016 + or a recent Linux Distribution  
Database: Oracle, SQL Server or PostgreSQL   
Understanding of SRE, DevOPS CICD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) 
Understanding Cloud infrastructure automation and configuration management

Ability to work in global distributed setting without supervision 
Self-driven, Proactive, Systems Thinking  
Ability to communicate recommendations using proofs of concept, relevant examples, and product or platform demonstrations 
Ability to work independently and be a team player 
Ability to communicate with remote and virtual teams
