About this role 

 

The “Storage and Backup Specialist” for Hybrid Cloud is a part of the Hybrid Hosting Operations (HHO) team located in Coimbatore & Pune Schlumberger and reporting to “Backup & Storage Lead”. 

 

He/She will be part of a team and handle the storage and backup infrastructure whilst performing day-to-day activities. The Storage and Backup specialist will be responsible for effectively maintaining the enterprise storage & backup operations. He/She will have good exposer on on-premises & cloud and will be responsible for configuring and maintaining data protection of Azure, Google and on-prem workloads.

 

Responsibilities 

 

• This role is expected to have strong knowledge and hands on experience Commvault Backup Tool and Hyperscale Storage Appliances. Knowledge on backup tools like Veritas NetBackup, Backup Exec, Veeam, HP Data Protector and Networker will be added advantage.
• Provide support for designing and maintaining backup & storage infrastructure.
• Should have good knowledge with hands on experience on storage like EMC Unity, HPE 3PAR & Netapp.
• Demonstrate a high level of technical expertise to support complex Storage devices, including SAN, NAS, and backup solutions across all tiers, under minimum supervision.
• Must have good insight to automate tasks and process to improve the efficiency and reduce the cost, using abilities of Python or PowerShell.

 

Qualifications and Requirements 

 

Essential qualifications 

 

• Working knowledge of storage like EMC Unity, HPE 3PAR & Netapp.
• Commvault Backup Tool and Hyperscale Storage Appliances. Knowledge on backup tools like Veritas NetBackup, Backup Exec, Veeam, HP Data Protector and Networker will be added advantage.
• Good technical knowledge of core Enterprise Infrastructure components and interconnects. 
• Knowledge on Enterprise networks and Databases
• Expert knowledge on Storage & Backup technology.

 

Other skills and abilities 

 

• Bachelor’s Degree - Computer Science, Information Systems Management or an equivalent degree 
• At least 10+ years of experience in managing the Storage, backup and Capacity functions.
• Hands on experience on managing hybrid cloud infrastructure with operational excellence.
• Excellent communication, verbal, and written skills
