Job summary

The Quality Engineer provides quality assurance of the civil works for all the project’s scope by physical inspection. The aim of these inspections is to ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with all specifications, standards and codes applicable. If deficiencies are discovered, the inspector makes suggestions to help the Construction Company determine how to meet the requirements.

 

Job Description

  • Prepare Inspection Test Plan for Civil activities
  • Review Method statement for Construction and Testing activities
  • Checks the preparation of foundations
  • Checks the correct preparation of reinforcements
  • Checks the certifications regarding element mixes. LASTM test, chemical analysis, grain size analysis
  • Monitors atmospheric conditions during pouring operations
  • Monitors correct curing operations
  • Checks the sampling operations (when required)
  • Reviews the laboratory examination results
  • Checks sub-grade dry density
  • Checks moisture content
  • Checks compression strength test
  • In-situ density of compacted Material (Compaction Test)
  • Checks after execution of costing
  • Checks after concrete pouring
  • Checks Concrete Compressive Strength (7 days and 28 Days)
  • Checks materials quality (wire, fitting etc.)
  • Foundation and anchor bolt verification
  • Verifies special processes and the relevant workers’ qualifications
  • Orderly collect, check and manage documents certifying tests, controls and inspections carried out witnessing the tests, controls and inspections carried out
  • Check the conformity with the Quality Control Plan and obtain the relevant documentation
  • Check the documents certifying the tests, controls and inspections carried out
  • Ensure the correct implementation of the approved Inspection Test Plan according to Clients requirements

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Years of experience required: 5+ years of Oil and Gas Industry related QA/QC supervisory position.
  • Previous experience of supervision of multi discipline Project support teams
  • Experience of working on major Civil works projects with oil and gas involvement
  • Technical qualification (Bachelor of Science / Diploma or bachelor’s in engineering - Civil)
  • Fluency in English
