Job Description

 

Azerbaijan Tax Manager is responsible for management of statutory and tax compliance and audit matters within SLB group of companies in Azerbaijan.

Successful Position holders are excellent communicators, enjoy solving problems, and work well both independently and in a team.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

·         Review and file Legal Entity statutory accounts and tax returns in compliance with local laws, regulations and generally accepted accounting standards Azerbaijan.

·         Ensure compliance with requirements for corporate and indirect taxes in Azerbaijan, including timely filing of returns, payment of taxes, and preparation of transfer pricing documentation.

·         Implement tax plans in Azerbaijan in line with corporate policies and structure guidelines.

·         Directly manage tax audits and respond to queries from tax authorities timely and ensure issues are resolved.

·         Coordinate with external advisors, as required.

·         Review and implement inter-company agreements and ensure compliance with the terms and conditions.

·         Prepare and submit internal reports on a timely basis.

·         Liaise with Treasury to ensure legal entity capital structures are adequate and compliant with local requirements and regular review of dividend distribution capacity.

·         Advise HR on payroll tax declaration and compliance issues.

·         Support Azerbaijan Operations on tax matters relating to commercial issues and transactions, including review of client/supplier contract bids/tenders to ensure that legal entity and tax related issues are adequately addressed.

·         Support Azerbaijan Operations to develop and implement operating structures and registration in countries.

·         Promote tax and fiscal awareness amongst the employees of the organization.

·         Participates in major tenders where scope covers multiple divisions.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

·         Degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.

·         ACCA/CPA or similar qualification preferred.

·         5+ years of tax experience, preferably in oil & gas industry.

·         Strong experience in corporate tax, VAT and WHT in Azerbaijan.

·         Experience with tax audits and tax authority interactions.

·         Strong knowledge of Azerbaijan Tax Code and PSA/tax regimes.

·         Experience with ERP systems - SAP is an advantage.

·         Proficiency in e-tax filing systems and Excel.

·         Experience with international taxation and transfer pricing.

·         Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills.

·         Fluency in English and Azerbaijani.
