SLB is seeking a Field Sales Representative to grow SLB’s drill bits business across Alberta. Based in Grande Prairie, Alberta, you will build and strengthen relationships with assigned customers, serve as the primary point of contact at rig sites to help ensure service quality, and promote and sell SLB drill bit products and related services. In this field‑based role, you will manage the full sales cycle, planning and prioritizing visits where activity and customer demand are highest, visiting drilling rigs, delivering bits, developing accounts, and working closely with our Engineering and Sales teams to optimize bit selection and performance. You will identify, qualify, and close opportunities, maintain a strong communications pipeline, and be responsible for growing revenue and market share within your assigned accounts.  Roles and Responsibilities

  • Build and expand relationships with assigned accounts through regular rig‑site and customer visits, including follow‑up on sold jobs and stakeholder consultations; plan and prioritize field visits across Alberta focusing on rigs and customer sites with the highest activity and business demand.
  • Act as the primary customer interface with Operations and Service Delivery, coordinating job execution and service quality, and responding quickly to time‑sensitive rig needs in a 24/7 operating environment.
  • Prospect, qualify, and close sales opportunities; sell and deliver drill bits; manage the pipeline and forecast, and execute account plans to grow revenue and market share.
  • Assist in troubleshooting product and service performance in the field and resolve complaints, ensuring customer issues are managed to closure.
  • Stay current on sales programs and new product introductions; maintain awareness of industry trends and the competitive landscape using publicly available sources, and report actionable insights to management.
  • Follow HSE standards, use proper PPE at rig sites, and adhere to driving and compliance policies

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school or technical diploma.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in oilfield sales, drilling operations, or drill bit technology.
  • Strong understanding of drilling practices, downhole tools, and drill bit applications.
  • Proven ability to work independently in a field‑based role with extensive travel.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Clear, professional verbal communication in English.
  • Valid H2S Alive and First Aid certifications are assets; training will be provided as required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Canada without company sponsorship.
