This is a fieldbased, selfdirected position supporting SLB customers in the Grande Prairie area, with autonomy to plan and prioritize a territory schedule based on rig activity and customer demand. We are seeking a commissioned sales representative to grow SLB’s drill bits business in Grande Prairie and surrounding region. As the primary point of contact for customers operating in the area, you will make frequent visits to drilling rigs, deliver bits, develop accounts, and help ensure service quality in the field. You will manage the full sales cycle—identifying, qualifying, and closing opportunities—while building and deepening relationships with assigned customers. You will plan and prioritize visits where activity and customer demand are highest around Grande Prairie, maintain a healthy communications pipeline, and be accountable for growing revenue and market share with assigned accounts. You will also collaborate closely with our Calgary Engineering and Sales teams to optimize bit selection and performance. This opportunity is ideal for someone entrepreneurial, resilient, and passionate about drilling performance, with strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a field‑based, fast‑moving environment.

 

 Roles and Responsibilities

  • Build and expand relationships with assigned accounts through regular rig‑site visits, including follow‑up on sold jobs and stakeholder consultations; plan and prioritize field visits in the Grande Prairie area and surrounding region.
  • Act as the primary customer interface with Operations and Service Delivery, coordinating job execution and service quality, and responding quickly to time‑sensitive rig needs in a 24/7 operating environment.
  • Prospect, qualify, and close sales opportunities; sell and deliver drill bits; manage the pipeline and forecast, and execute plans to grow revenue and market share.
  • Assist in troubleshooting product and service performance in the field and resolve complaints, ensuring customer issues are managed to closure.
  • Stay current on sales programs and new product introductions; maintain awareness of industry trends and the competitive landscape and report actionable insights to management.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in oilfield sales, drilling operations, or drill bit technology.
  • Strong understanding of drilling practices, downhole tools, and drill bit applications.
  • Proven ability to work independently and self‑manage a territory in a field‑based role with extensive travel.
  • Comfortable working in a commission / performance‑driven sales environment and operating with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Clear, professional verbal communication in English.
