Delivery of in-depth well studies for well reinstatement campaign:
1. Review the selected strings from the candidate screening list to support the team for better reservoir understanding
a. Reservoir production performance analysis on (but not limited to) liquid, oil & water rate, oi, water & gas cumulative production, injection water volume & VRR, reservoir pressure trending, reservoir drive mechanism/depletion and recovery factor
b. Analyse well spacing and interference risk (low, medium and high) analytically between candidate well and neighbouring wells
c. Run analytical forecast as a base case with Decline Curve Analysis (DCA) using OFM to investigate potential recoverable volumes, b-value and decline rate
d. If DCA is not adequate, build and run simple reservoir model – either with Petrel (ECL/IX) or MBAL (Material Balance)
e. Specific to reservoirs under secondary water injection mechanism, the Senior Reservoir Engineer is to understand BSP water injection program (injection patten design, implementation and optimization), and establish the connectivity between well candidate and neighbouring wells, which could impact the candidate potential gain
2. Run production forecast for the well candidate via Single well modelling Decline Curve Analysis (DCA)
a. Conduct well-level, zonal-level, reservoir-level DCA to obtain recoverable volumes (Low, Medium and High)
3. Support Senior Production Technologist on candidate selection process to build the business case for Closed-in String reinstatement or restoration.
4. Support Reservoir Petrophysict to analyze sand quality via well correlation for existing production enhancement candidate and support on add perforation candidate feasibility analysis
5. Engagement with company & client subsurface teams, present well studies to peer review committee (Company & client SME’s)
