Supplier Quality Engineer

The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for evaluating, selecting, and monitoring suppliers to ensure quality compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement, while collaborating across teams and supporting new product development through readiness assessments and specification alignment.

Supplier Evaluation and Selection:

  • Conduct audits and assessments to ensure suppliers meet quality standards.
  • Identify outsourcing activities and critical sub-suppliers (including raw materials).
  • Monitor supplier risks and performance using metrics and KPIs.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
  • Provide training, guidance, and facilitate improvements in supplier quality systems and processes.

Problem Resolution:

  • Investigate quality issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.

Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier quality.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Act as the primary contact for supplier quality matters.
  • Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to ensure alignment on quality specifications.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed records of audits, evaluations, and supplier performance.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual, regulatory, and company policy requirements.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Lead or support initiatives to improve supplier management processes.
  • Encourage suppliers to innovate and adopt best practices.

New Product Development (NPD) and First Article (FA):

  • Ensure supplier readiness and capability during new product launches.
  • Verify mutual agreement on specifications between the company and suppliers.

 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in manufacturing environment, particularly in QA/QC.
  • Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing Engineering, Management or equivalent
