About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Quality Specialist / QA-QC Engineer to join our operations in Hassi Messaoud.
The successful candidate will support quality assurance and quality control activities across Oil & Gas operations and projects, ensuring compliance with applicable company requirements, international standards, client specifications, and Algerian regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in Oil & Gas quality management, mechanical equipment inspection, QA/QC processes, supplier quality, auditing, NCR/CAPA management, and quality documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain Quality Management System (QMS) requirements across operations and projects.
- Ensure compliance with applicable ISO, API, client and company quality standards and procedures.
- Review project specifications, quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), procedures and technical documentation.
- Perform and/or coordinate inspections of mechanical equipment, piping, pressure equipment and related Oil & Gas equipment.
- Monitor welding, NDT, testing and inspection activities as required.
- Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), root-cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
- Conduct or participate in internal, external, supplier and vendor quality audits.
- Support supplier qualification and monitor supplier/contractor quality performance.
- Ensure equipment and activities meet applicable technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate quality activities during manufacturing, construction, installation, testing, commissioning and handover phases.
- Prepare and review quality records, inspection reports, certification packages and final quality dossiers.
- Interface with engineering, operations, maintenance, supply chain, contractors and other stakeholders on quality-related matters.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote a strong quality culture.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Algerian Oil & Gas regulatory and certification requirements.
Education
- Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Materials, Industrial Engineering, Quality, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Ideally 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Significant experience in Oil & Gas, EPC, oilfield services, manufacturing, inspection or industrial projects.
- Proven experience in Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control.
- Previous experience in Algeria's Oil & Gas environment is highly desirable.
Technical Knowledge
Candidates should demonstrate experience in several of the following areas:
- ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
- API standards and Oil & Gas industry requirements
- QA/QC plans and ITPs
- Mechanical, piping and pressure equipment inspection
- Welding inspection and WPS/PQR documentation
- NDT techniques and coordination
- NCR / RCA / CAPA management
- Quality audits
- Supplier and vendor quality
- Equipment certification and traceability
- Technical and quality documentation
- Manufacturing and fabrication inspection
- Mechanical completion and commissioning
- Algerian regulatory requirements and ARH processes
Relevant API, ISO, NDT, welding, auditing or inspection certifications will be considered an advantage.
