What You Will Do:
Attend to breakdowns, diagnose faults, and oversee equipment improvements and time critical repairs; maintain preventative maintenance and breakdown report and part usage records; investigate the root cause and recommend course of action.
Assists shop on problem identification, trouble shooting and equipment issue resolution and repair. Evaluate non-conforming products to determine appropriate requirements to rework, repair, or scrap items.
Oversee spare parts inventory and may use a computerized maintenance management system. Assist with inventory counts.
Perform routine inspections and maintenance of equipment, building and safety systems; perform routine preventative maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment, modifications and fabrications, installation, troubleshooting, pipe fitting, gas fitting, welding, etc.; troubleshoot electrical equipment using test equipment and circuit diagrams.
Coordinate and direct contractors for specialized repairs and installations; maintain good working relations with internal customers and contractors.
Maintain toolkit, supplies, and requisite tool inventory.
Conduct facility and equipment inspections as a part of the Emergency Response Procedures.
Deliver parts to technicians on job sites.
Minimum Qualifications:
2 years of experience as a shop hand or similar.
Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills
Utilize hand or power tools and heavy equipment, such as, forklifts and pallet jacks in a safe, reliable manner
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license in state of residence.
Physical Demands:
The employee is regularly required to stand for the entire work day.
The employee regularly lifts and carries 50 lbs. and occassionally lifts and carries up to 100 lbs, with assistance.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
The employee is frequently required to use hands and fingers to pick, feel and/or inspect material. The employee will also reach with hands and arms as needed.
Repetitive bending, reaching, pulling and lifting.
Pushing and pulling wheeled carts weighing up to 1000 lbs.
