Expand our understanding of reservoir potential
As a Geologist at Schlumberger, you’ll combine your understanding of earth sciences with a comprehensive knowledge of the latest logging technologies to determine reservoir architecture and hydrocarbon potential. That means you’ll use a variety of data acquisition services and logging systems to understand the structure, stratigraphy, lithology and compartmentalization of reservoirs. Every Geologist role is different and there are a huge variety of projects to get involved with. You could be helping clients understand changes in reservoir rocks during production or be responsible for determining the best place to drill the well with minimum environmental damage. Some of our Geologists help build the tools and systems we use to improve reservoir understanding. Whichever projects you work on, you’ll become adept at multiple software systems and work closely with customers to find innovative ways to solve some of their most complex challenges.
Redefine how we understand the subsurface
As one of our Geophysicists, you’ll apply your knowledge and expertise of the earth’s properties to enhance our interpretations of geological data and greater define how we understand the subsurface. We acquire huge amounts of often previously unseen seismic and geophysical data around the world and you’ll help transform it into the knowledge that powers better decision making and more effective, more efficient services. You’ll be involved in the acquisition, processing and interpretation of that data and we offer a range of career opportunities to develop your skills and get exposure across the data lifecycle. You could work directly with clients to help them on acquiring data or you could learn to master data processing in one of our state-of-the-art centers, working alongside talented colleagues to devise new ways of spotting new patterns in vast amounts of data from every corner of the world. Drive efficiency by deepening our knowledge
As a Schlumberger Petrophysicist, you’ll use your skillset to make our entire industry more efficient by deepening our understanding of the volume of hydrocarbons present in a reservoir and their potential flow through the reservoir rock. You’ll combine logging data from multiple downhole sensors with sample data to determine hydrocarbon production capacity, lithology and fluid saturation of the reservoir to ultimately help us optimize its production. You’ll incorporate data from multiple wells and additional sensors to consider acoustics, spectroscopy and magnetic resonance to enhance overall accuracy or build a clearer picture of the reservoir by understanding its permeability and mechanical properties. The skillset you’ll bring and develop further here through extensive training will give you the opportunity to work on truly groundbreaking projects that define the limits of what we know about the subsurface. A large part of the role involves using the latest analytical software and explaining your discoveries to delivery teams so you’ll also gain a thorough understanding of our industry and the innovation that powers it.
Master data to create ground-breaking models
As a Reservoir Engineer, you’ll use data and our leading software products and solutions to create reservoir models that help clients make decisions that deliver safer, optimized, long-term production for each reservoir. You’ll evaluate the production potential of a reservoir by simulating fluid flow phase behavior and reservoir physical properties. You’ll do this as part of multi-disciplinary teams that often include the client’s experts collaborating with you to deliver the most accurate results possible. We work with an unparalleled amount of clients, which means you’ll get a unique understanding of the industry and a huge diversity of situations to put your skills to test while expanding your knowledge. Software is a large part of this role. If you choose to, you will help clients implement our products, services and solutions and using your expertise to ensure their complex engineering and data challenges are met. It’s a role that requires a true passion for harnessing technological advances to solve tangible challenges. Your work will often be validated with actual reservoir data so every project is an opportunity to develop your skills and improve your work. You’ll draw on multiple disciplines and expertise from across our business to create and implement the solutions that make a difference to clients and extend the limits of what’s possible in our industry.
Design solutions that transform our work
As a Production Optimization Engineer, deliver performance improvements to our client’s assets worldwide. You’ll create virtual representations of our downhole products which incorporate the calculations, finite element analysis, computation fluid dynamics, costing and parametric modeling into one cohesive system. This helps us and our clients optimize the design around require features and performance. You’ll apply principles of solid mechanics, product line specific calculations, FEA and CFD to design essential downhole products. It requires a combination of advanced technical understanding and an ability to apply that to challenges to create tangible products. You could be creating a life-of-the-well artificial lift program one week and helping manage flow assurance the next. If you want to combine solid analytical skills to understand field challenges with an ability to conceptualize and design solutions then this is the role for you.
