Essential Responsibilities and duties:
As a Schlumberger DevOps/Automation engineer, you’ll have responsibility throughout the full development and operation cycle. You’ll apply your skills to design, develop, test solutions to support development and operation of our software while continuously improving on your products. Your main goal is to reduce toil and increase quality. Whether you’re creating new products in our transformational programs or enhancing existing ones, you’ll have the opportunity to listen to what each customer needs and bring all the elements together to provide solutions.
Currently, we have the fifth largest super computer infrastructure in the world, comprising more than 65 petaflops of processing power. You will join a team of software experts with a variety of core competencies such as Internet of things (IoT), user experience (UX), data analytics, and web and mobile front-end development, back-end development, SRE, Cloud engineering. Keeping pace with and applying the latest digital technology trends in the energy industry will be your focus.
At Schlumberger Abingdon, UK, we require a junior DevOps/Automation engineer to design, develop, test solutions to support development and operation of our software. The focus of the team is the delivery of a leading commercial Software as a Service product to help experts in the energy sector plan the development of their field assets.
This work requires the successful applicant primarily to be experienced in cloud engineering, continuous integration and deployment, and scripting. She/he should be flexible, open to learn in areas where not proficient and ready to be involved in all DevOps specifically automated testing, automated deployment and build, software reliability engineering and operation support. The development team works closely with the product and service teams in Abingdon and from the wider Schlumberger organization, as well as engaging with external groups.
