Internship Software Engineering (3 - 12 months) - Developing web interface and visualization for collecting data solution project
We are Schlumberger, the leading provider of technology and services to the energy industry. Throughout much of the oil and gas lifecycle in over 120 countries; we design, develop, and deliver technology and services that transforms how work is done.
We define the boundaries of the industry by unleashing our talented people’s energy. We’re looking for innovators to join our diverse community of colleagues and develop new solutions and push the limits of what’s possible. If you share our passion for discovery and want to find out what you could really do, then here is the place to do it.
We have developed an interface that feeds answers from questionnaires into a back-end Bayesian Network to estimate a system condition. The results are then visually displayed in the interface. The codes are a client-server system written in C#, with the use of networking protocols for remote connection. The apps currently have a working PC version and a developing i-pad version.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Maintain the codes and have the freedom to further develop the visualisation tools
Learn and use their relevant computing skills to improve the code to store inputs and results locally in-server and also in cloud, and subsequently to select and retrieve relevant results based on oil and gas well metadata for comparison
Opportunities to develop apps in both PC and ipad and learn the basics of Bayesian statistics, networks and inference.
