Manufacturing Welder

The Manufacturing Welder is responsible for fitting, tacking, and welding fabricated and other components into assemblies according to blueprints, sketches, instructions, and using knowledge of welding characteristics of metal. They will select equipment, plan layouts, assemble, and weld while applying knowledge of geometry, physical properties of metals, effects of heat, allowances for thickness, machining, weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.

Successful Position holders are excellent communicators, enjoy solving problems, and work well in teams.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assists and directs other Welders in welding assemblies
  • Fitting, tacking, and welding fabricated and other components into assemblies
  • Select equipment, plan layouts, assemble, and weld
  • Detect unusual conditions or specific problems and report to proper supervision
  • Observe good housekeeping practices and follow prescribed safety precautions

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 1-4 years’ experience in TIG welding with thin gauge materials such as stainless steel
  • Is qualified in the flat, horizontal and vertical positions as required by SWECO welding procedures
  • Knowledgeable in GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and plasma and oxy fuel cutting
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
