Sr. Attorney to provide legal assistance and advice regarding a broad range of matters in support of the U.S. Land GeoUnit, under the supervision of the GeoUnit Legal Counsel.

Responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day commercial contracts, contract disputes, compliance and corporate matters.
  • Interact with GeoMarket support functions and departments, ensuring involvement of Legal in all matters that may have a legal impact on the company.
  • Provide legal support to Operations to ensure compliance with local regulations and company Code of conduct, including trainings and onsite reviews.
  • Assists Legal Counsel to implement procedures, practices, guidelines and templates.
  • Collaborate with Legal Counsel in litigation management.
  • Assists Legal Counsel in managing and supervising outside counsel.
  • Participate in department training and development initiatives and complete assigned training.
  • Moderate involvement in business unit planning and operations as part of the management team.
  • Provide legal support and identify and assess legal risks regarding labor and employment related matters, which may include, but are not limited to, human resource issues, wage and hour law
  • Provide support and guidance to the commercial and supply chain contracts team.
  • Lead and support internal investigations.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Juris doctorate from a nationally recognized law school
  • Active bar membership from any of the fifty states or DC
  • 5-7 years of relevant legal experience in the area of commercial contracts, labor and employment and/or litigation.
  • In-House legal experience preferred, but not required
  • Exposure in the areas of labor and employment, litigation, compliance, data privacy, FARs preferred.
  • Ability to act independently, handle multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to function effectively and efficiently with minimal administrative support, including typing skills and ability to work with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Business acumen with a solution-oriented approach.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
