Job Description:

The position of Senior FEA Analyst is integrated in the Subsea Engineering Center of Excellence of Cameron Italy, a Schlumberger Company located in Colico, Italy. Cameron Colico is a world leader in the manufacture of Subsea On/Off Valves, Choke Valves and Chemical Injection Metering Valves for the Oil and Gas industry. The position reports directly to the Design Supervisor. The Senior FEA Analyst will work within a team of Engineers and Designers gaining extensive experience in all aspects of the design of Oil & Gas high pressure, flow controlling devices.

The FEA Analyst develops and optimizes the design of subsea ball, gate and check valves. He/she is responsible verification of the valve design and supports the validation program for new products and the resolution of NCRs and complex problems. He/she supports the discussion with Customers on design verification and produces technical reports for Customers.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Technical responsibility of the verification and optimization of subsea valve design, in accordance with applicable international codes (i.e. ASME, API and DNV codes) and Customer requirements. The valve design verification is conducted through hand calculation, finite element analysis in elastic and elastoplastic conditions, thermal, fluid-dynamic and impact analysis.
  • Develop of new verification forms and their validation.
  • Assist testing department during validation tests of new products.
  • Support the Product Engineer in the resolution of NCR.
  • Locally responsible for NPDs (New Product Development).
  • Review of Customer’s specifications and design requirements, Oil & Gas Industry standards and codes and Cameron design standards.
  • Responsible for the preparation of hand calculation and FEA report for Customer.
  • Technical interface with the Customer on design review meetings and clarification.
  • Involved in the resolution of complex problem associate to the product design and functionality
  • Responsible for safety of self and others.

Key Experiences and Knowledge Required

  • From 3 to 5 years work experience in a similar position for pressure vessel manufacturer or Oil & Gas valve manufacturer.
  • The candidate will ideally have attained a degree classification of 100/110 or higher in the above.
  • The candidate has successfully passed exams on advanced application of finite element analysis during  university studies.
  • Knowledge of Oil & Gas International standards such as API 6A, API 17D, API 6DSS.
  • Knowledge of machining and welding processes.
