Materials Specialist

The Materials Specialist coaches and work as a team with the storekeepers, and is responsible for the proper execution af all Warehouse Activities within the assigned segment/ location to him/her. He/She should ensure adherence to to Company Standards, applying good housekeeping practices, with a strong focus on safety and efficiency, ensuring goods are received, stored and issued to internal and external customers in a timely manner. The Materials Specialist is also responsible for keeping optimal stock balances, provides support  on Demand Planning and Stock Replenishment, and ensures inventory transactions accuracy in the Warehouse Management System.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for WH stock accuracy and compliance with SLB procedures (Reception, storage, issuance, return & disposal is performed in a compliant and timely manner)
  • Ensure compliance with established procedures and Company Standards to maintain effective control over the physical product flow and storage for the warehouse and other inventory areas.
  • Implement required documentation and labelling per Company Standards and local requirements.
  • Maintain timely input to Warehouse Management System and ensure accurate stock transaction records
  • Support by either supervising or directly executing the following (but not limited to) specific processes:
    • Disposals/junk/scrap
    • Field Material Transfer to/ from other SLB locations
    • Tracking Financial Inventory to Rig site or to other remote locations
    • Consumption of financial inventory
    • Perform Cycle Count and Physical Count as needed
    • Bin creation and assignment
    • New part creation request
    • Requisition Order input in the Warehouse Management and Procurement systems for the purchase that is not handled by the MCT
    • Physical Count entries in the Warehouse Management System in non-barcode enabled environments (management of exceptions)
    • Goods Reception in the Warehouse Management System in non-barcode enabled environments (management of exceptions)
    • Outbound Deliveries postings (issues out) in the Warehouse Management System in non-barcode enabled environments (management of exceptions)
  • Proactive monitors and implements local strategies to reduce excess and ageing stock (specifically aim for reduction of Days Stock On Hand (DSOH) and slow moving indicators) for the assigned segments
  • Execute Cycle Count and Periodical Physical Counts: Plan Creation/ Posting of Adjustments/ Root Cause, and reporting as per Global Procedure
  • Perform periodical reviews of the Exception Reports in order to maintain data integrity in the Warehouse Management System, including but not limited to: discrepancies between systems, unit price, aged open/ failed/ pending for approval/ unmatched transactions, inactive parts
  • Proactively promote, executes and follows up internal Field Material Transfers, until final closure, ensuring quality controls are carried out and are compliant with the segment quality standards
  • Optimize warehouse bin locations to improve efficiency & safety
  • Implement, as applicable, advanced techniques (eg. kitting, Kanban etc) to improve local material management efficiency
  • Aim for continuous improvement and regular uses LEAN tools such as 5S exercise to improve WH efficiency and reduce waste. Implement, as applicable, advanced techniques (eg. kitting, Kanban etc) to improve local materials management efficiency
  • Conducts periodical self-assessments and Audits as dictated by the Schlumberger Global Processes
  • Communicate with management occurrences of warehousing failures (eg. damaged or lost goods) and participate in investigations and actions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Comply with applicable company policies including, but not limited to finance, personnel and QHSE

Requirements:

  • Minimum degree in Supply Chain or other related qualifications.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Have working rights in Malaysia and willing to relocate to Labuan.
  • Proficient in Malay and English spoken and written languages.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
