Responsibilities:

Provides Expert Advice and Support to the HSE Team

  • Works within the HSE team to help stakeholders to better understand human behaviour to promote higher levels of engagement with health and safety to assist with the prevention of health and safety related incidents, accidents, and fatalities. 
  • Helps the Schlumberger Central HSE team to achieve its core objectives in relation to the health and wellbeing of Schlumberger employees and contractors globally
  • Provides advice and support to HSE subject matter authorities (SMAs) for key projects by agreement
  • Inputs into the design of health and safety communication materials as needed
  • Assists in the further development of HSE systems and applications in terms of user interface design, testing and feedback
  • Translates scientific insights from the areas of behavioural psychology, human factors design and situational awareness into practical measures for improved HSE performance.

Supports the Global Medical Advisor

  • Supports the Global Medical Advisor with advice on employee engagement measures in the design, implementation, and delivery of the Live Well health strategy.
  • Works with the HSE Health and Wellbeing Manager to integrate behavioural psychology principals into the Schlumberger Safe program. 
  • Assists the Clinical Mental Health Lead with design input and joint governance of psychological wellbeing program including mental health first aid program.

Assists with HSE Communications

  • Works to advise and support the HSE Communications & Projects Manager, the Global Medical Advisor and the HSE Director of HSE Practices.
  • Advises from an industry behavioural psychologist perspective on the strategy, content, and method of sharing of HSE messages to help connect with all our employees and contractors globally
  • Works with the central and regional HSE communications teams to review and refine HSE messaging to employees specifically to promote higher levels of engagement and behavioural change
  • Works with other functions on an occasional basis to help with additional business priorities including areas such as sustainability, company attractiveness, employee satisfaction and work life balance.

Conducts company and industry relevant scientific research

  • Utilizes all available company systems to gather data on employee and contractor HSE related behaviour
  • Analyses the available data to answer questions and support HSE and company leadership decision making
  • Works by agreement on focussed research questions relevant to Schlumberger HSE stakeholders
  • Publishes internal and external reports and scientific papers by agreement
