Business Line Commercial Engineer

The Business Line Commercial Engineer is a dedicated position within the Commercial Center focused on evaluating the proposed strategy and providing associated pricing recommendations for customer proposals. As part of this focus, this position is responsible for developing the most relevant tender evaluation model for use by all stakeholders and as an effective tool for management review. This position maintains awareness and is the subject matter expert of their respective Product Line pricing benchmarks/trends within their assigned regions, as well as historical pricing resulting in both successful and failed proposals.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Extract and analyze historical pricing trends to support ‘smart bidding’ strategies.
  • Build tender evaluation model from GeoMarket information as well as Commercial Center experience.
  • Produce Pricing tables in accordance with ITT requirement and in adherence with agreed tactics.
  • Assist in the development of sell-up and NT plans within the tender construct.
  • Assist PCL with commercial risk identification (CCQI/PIC) in the PL Tender Process.
  • Complete and capture the strategy development part of the PL Tender Process.
  • Assemble the appropriate Benchmark with guidance from RCM.
  • Provides high volume tender alternatives when required (Sales Quotes – templates, pricing and T&C).
  • Provide early notification of key tender material / inputs requirements to PSD, OPRM, SSO.
  • Responsible for bid Technical submission inclusion with input from GeoMarket PSD and CC Technical Support team (where available).
  • Update and consolidate Product Line Global and/or Local XAIT library after every bid, as required.
  • Drive/Respond to Post submission Clarifications.
  • Prepares Contract Execution Summary working with the GeoMarkt Opportunity Owner if awarded by customer.

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Petroleum, Mechanical).
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the upstream and midstream oil and gas industry.
  • Understands chemistry and services offering, customers and market drivers, pricing tactics and sales strategies.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present, and collaborate in a teamwork environment.
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn internal business systems.
  • Excellence in time management and task prioritization, with a high level of persistence in meeting deadlines.
  • Fluent in Spanish (mandatory).
  • US and / or LA Oil & Gas industry background.
  • Experience with chemical suppliers, strategic sourcing and cost management.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship.
