Choke Design Engineer

We currently have opportunities for Choke Design Engineers in our Choke Engineering Department, Longford.

 

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Successful applicants will work within a team of Engineers and Designers gaining extensive experience in all aspects of the design of high pressure, flow controlling devices. Responsibilities will include reviewing and managing product offering of projects at tender stage as well as generation of specifications and BOMs at order stage. This position entails:

  • Participating in design projects from inception to completion.
  • Review customer inquiry packages.
  • Preparation of product specification sheets and costing analysis.
  • Developing and qualifying product designs and documents.
  • Document design analysis and review to meet specified standards or other industry codes. Preparation of all   related documentation for customer sales orders.
  • Occasional travel to other international locations as required by the business

  • Material Selection Stress Analysis 
  • Hydraulics  and Pneumatics
  • Electrical Actuation and Associated Control Systems Flow
  • Dynamics and Erosional Analysis
  • 2D Drawing and 3D Solid Modelling.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • An Honours Degree / Masters in Mechanical Engineering
  • 1 – 2 years’ appropriate work experience whilst desirable is not essential
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office is required
  • 3D modelling experience is preferable
  • Knowledge of machining processes is desirable

 

WORK LOCATION

Our office is based in Longford Town, Country Longford, with work flexibility to allow working from home on part of the week.
