Technical Sales Engineer

The Technical Sales Engineer is responsible for providing technical support to the local sales group to help grow the digital production business within the Digital and Integration business line.

The incumbent must be focused on selling our digital production suite of technologies which includes IoT products, flow assurance workflows, process engineering, and production optimization for operations.  Throughout the sales process, this role is responsible for ongoing communication and collaboration with client stakeholders along with technical project management for implementations. The territory for this role is US based and travel is required within the area.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Drive results by reaching out to prospects and building strong customer relationships
  • You will work directly with our customers and partners to understand their technical requirements, challenges
  • Develop & present technical presentations and customized demonstrations to prospective customers
  • Build a strong understanding of use-cases and applications for digital production solutions targeting various personas within E&P companies as well as the business drivers
  • Be a domain expert on various horizontals within the production technology suite: IoT products – sensors, devices; flow assurance, process engineering, and production operations.
  • Develop, cultivate, and maintain high-value relationships with key stakeholders to grow revenue
  • Develop opportunities with significant commercial potential; manage the overall sales process and supporting the relationship-building process
  • As a solution finder, suggest potential solutions and/or alternatives to key customer and partner challenges
  • Act as a technical project manager for customer projects, working with our partners, delivery, product house & engineering teams
  • Support sales team in qualifying potential opportunities with current customers, partners and prospects

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelors in Petroleum Engineering/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Production operations experience required (Automation/Artificial Lift experience is plus)
  • Experience with well instrumentation and communications (SCADA, IOT)
  • Experience in petroleum industry (5+ years), upstream production required.
  • Familiarity with enterprise project implementations involving multiple stakeholders
  • Proven ability to interface with stakeholders, partners, and customers
  • The candidate will be personable and competitive, always willing to push your teammates to the next level as you guide business owners through their marketing journey
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills is a must
  • Confident in operating independently when necessary
  • Demonstrated creative problem-solving orientation
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship
