About this role 

 

The Business Engagement Contact ensures delivery of products that meet customer/end-user requirements and deliver value to Schlumberger Operations, management, and functions. They develop and maintain a vision for the product, communicating that vision to the Scrum team, being responsible for the product features from concept to end-of-life. They furthermore coordinate with Key Process Owner, Architects, customer, and development teams to ensure that business, quality, and functional goals are met with each product release. The Business Engagement Contact ensures the design, usability, quality, and delivery of a product or feature, acting as key decision maker on priorities and design, and making sure stakeholders are aligned at each stage of the development lifecycle and acts as an authority on both the engineering and business domain for product releases and represent the end user’s needs. 

 

Responsibilities 

 

  • Coordinate with Product Architects and Key Process Owner teams to translate business requirements into user stories for implementation by development teams.
  • Develop and maintain a prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation.
  • Coordinate with Project Managers and Technical Leads to determine scope and priorities for product development cycles.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure they understand the product vision and are designing valuable features for Schlumberger operations and functions.
  • Develop detailed specifications for product features, making sure they are understood by the development teams.

 

Qualifications and Requirements 

 

Essential qualifications 

 

Engineering degree in Information Systems/Computer Science with at least 3 years relevant experience on either on Software/Development Engineering, agile development tools Azure dev/ops, and technology. 

As a Business Engagement Contact, you must know the ins and outs of development, design, software development, agile framework, scrum approach, and IT infrastructure. As part of technical skill, she/he must know: 

  • Software development
  • Scrum and agile software development methodologies
  • Coding and designing
  • UX knowledge and principles
  • Product development architecture
