Description:

The Tax Analyst assist the Tax Manager with the management of the Schlumberger Indirect Tax Function. Responsibilities of this position include tax compliance with respect mostly to state and local tax matters, but also US tax matters.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Timely & accurately file state and local sales and use taxes, motor fuels and other mobile equipment taxes, business license & occupational tax, federal excise tax returns and any other indirect tax returns assigned.
  • File & track refund requests generated by the compliance process.
  • Complete tax-only credit memos, tax certificate validity review & setups, AP tax adjustments, and answer taxability questions for the business.
  • Complete balance sheet account reconciliations for assigned indirect tax GL accounts per current company policy.
  • Review and monitor changes in state tax laws for assigned states.
  • Perform tax research on various tax types upon request using department provided research tools.
  • Help identify tax engine configuration changes and improvements including new business setups, ERP migrations, and post-audit configuration updates & corrections.
  • Attend training/development courses as required by Schlumberger policies and enhance knowledge in all tax areas affecting responsibilities.
  • Assist with Tax Trainings created for employees within Schlumberger to improve overall tax compliance.
  • Help oversee tax engine TDM compliance, including routine certificate update reviews.
  • Assist other Tax Department personnel in all areas as needed, including IDT audits.
  • Assist the HUB Tax Manager with special products as needed.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • BS degree required.
  • Minimum 3-5 yrs experience, proficient in excel. 
  • SAP experience is a plus but not required knowledge of specific systems.
