About this role 

 

Schlumberger has an opening in Bogota, Colombia for Data Sustenance/Operations Analysts, who will be responsible for working in Data Technology Team performing L1 and L2 activities and handling communication with business segments. He/She will monitor activities related to Data Pipelines and Data Subscriptions operations using technologies like Informatica IDQ, Big Data, SQL, Unix , Cloud SQL and related data management technologies primarily on GCP and Azure Cloud.  The role demands to lead (proactive) the by demonstrating a positive attitude, team focus, sharing knowledge and improve the current procedures.

 

The Sustenance Analyst has operational oversight for the Quality Acceptance & Production environment and the daily execution of workflows, sessions, tasks, server/application maintenance & patches and other data integration processes.  Responsibilities includes, but are not limited to - training and supervision of system operators, review of execution statistics, managing the scheduling for upgrades to the system and application software as well as the release of data integration processes.

 

In the event of an execution failure, the Sustenance Analyst must be able to read application logs and/or any other associated log files and should also follow pre-defined procedures for addressing the problem, including reinitiating the failed job(s) and/or notifying the appropriate application/solution team. This job requires 24 x 7 support and working in shifts including night shift which will be on rotating basis.

Technology

 

  • Monitors ETL & Data ingestion eco-system’s batch jobs and OS system logs and activities on servers.
  • Reviews and audits execution logs and statistics and escalates issues appropriately.
  • Optimize and adjust job batch schedule(s) and support periodic maintenance windows. 
  • Debug and reconciliation of the data 
  • Analyze and clarify user queries of data updates based.

 

Business

 

  • Perform change management, incident management activities. 
  • Engage with the business segments and internal stakeholders to communicate issue/outage updates. 
  • Work closely with analysts, designers and SMEs.

 

External Presence

 

  • Engage with the external technical and business community to brand and differentiate PLM implementation in Schlumberger, 
  • Participate in technical forums and other appropriate events. 

 

Qualifications and Requirements 

 

Essential qualifications 

 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Understanding of supporting operations support using Unix, Informatica IDQ, Hadoop Sqoop, Apache
  • Rundeck scheduler, Oracle Database  
  • Strong Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and Unix skills
  • Data file handling using Unix scripts is a MUST. 

 

Other skills and abilities 

 

  • ITIL Certification (specially for Incident Management and Problem Management).
  • Good to have experience of supporting Informatica, Cloud eco systems
