Key purpose

Work across multiple Segments within a Group, taking responsibility for helping to maintain a clear and coherent marketing communications message across the divisions, while providing creative leadership and strategic insight. Serve as a hands-on member of the Creative team, producing and overseeing the production of high-quality online and print marketing materials that support the SLB brand and promote division’s technologies, services, and products.

 

Works closely with

Divisions and Group MarCom Managers, Online Engagement Specialists, and Copywriters.

 

Responsibilities

  • Creative team
  • Rigorously maintain brand standards and Group-level marketing messages across multiple Segments.
  • Offer versatile communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Stay involved in and be aware of all industry trends concerning communications design and technology.
  • Take the lead in exploring new, impactful creative directions, while adhering to SLB brand standards and web best practices and conveying domain knowledge clearly. Accurately interpret the views of the MarCom Managers, Technical marketing, and subject matter experts (SMEs). Take the lead in interacting and communicating effectively with these internal clients.

 

Account

  • Take responsibility for understanding project challenges, goals, and vision.

 

Leadership

  • Provide clear creative direction at the start of a project and follow through by mentoring Creative team members, monitoring and guiding their efforts.
  • Inspire creativity, innovative thinking, and focused effort in the development of strong concepts and solutions.
  • Manage the delivery of projects assigned to the design team.
  • Manage training and development.
  • Mentor and help guide the development of Art Directors, Junior Art Directors, and Graphic Designers.
  • Manage self and reports as per the appraisal process.
  • Participate in all MarCom training.
  • Keep current on all QHSE requirements.

 

Qualifications

Strong domain knowledge; expert-level graphic design skills; excellent project-management, people-management, and communication skills; strong understanding of marketing basics. Expert in all industry-standard design software. Possesses a highly creative vision and exemplifies professionalism to staff and customers. Has the ability to take the lead on projects from concept to completion, possesses excellent time-management skills, and is clearly capable of advancing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards for execution, accuracy, adherence to brand standards, and attention to detail.

 

Experience

5+ years as an art director.
