DESCRIPTION AND SCOPE 

​​An electromechanical actuator was designed and tested for downhole application in the oilfield. This product needs a redesign of the bearing / roller screw section in order to be able to work on its full range of application. The goal of the internship is to operate the product at 10 to 155degC, 0 to 20000psi and prove that it can provide 12000 lbf of push and pull force with reduced electrical power consumption.​ 

DELIVERABLES 

​​Deliverables are: - Biblio and choice of the bearings - Concept, calculation and 3D of the new bearing assembly - Integration into the complete EMA assembly in 3D + drawings - Contact and order of the bearings with suppliers (SKF for exemple) - Design of a lab mockup to test the bearings (drawing and follow up with machine shop) - Assembly and test of the bearing assy in the lab​
