Job Description

 

The Position holder is responsible for creating, checking and approving drawings / designs; interface communication, and ensuring the accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and safety of the mechanical, piping, and structural scopes of work for Hyperscale Data Centre Modules meets customer’s requirements and Industrial Standards they produce (majorly in SolidWorks), functions as a mechanical / structural designer, and assists Engineers and Engineering Manager in providing drawings and equipment BOM as per customer requirements independently.

The position reports to the Engineering Lead.

 

Successful Position holders are excellent communicators, enjoy solving problems, and work well in teams.

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Provide and check drawings / BOM as per customer requirements.
  • Ensure drawings follow the Engineering and quality standards set by the leads.
  • Help in solving problems by simulating the problems in drawings.
  • Create documents such as layout/general arrangements, interface drawings, structural general arrangement drawings, structural weld details /notes, structural connection detail drawings, weight / COG reports, Process and Instrument Diagrams, handrails / ladders, walkways, and stairs, platform and grating detailed drawings etc.
  • Supervise the outsourcing of engineering design work to 3rd party engineering / design firms when needed.
  • Produce report data from models and assist in providing necessary design information to Project/Client/Third Party, as required.
  • Provide and document “Lessons learned” feedback and utilize findings from the process to update tools and procedures.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Designer should be in possession of a Technical Certification (Diploma) in the design discipline.
  • 5-10 years of experience mechanical and structural scopes of work in SolidWorks for large assemblies involving multiple sub-assemblies.
  • Fluency, both written and verbal, in English.
  • Extreme work ethic and maintains high level of quality of work and due diligence.
  • Performs well under pressure in high stress environments, ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
