The CAD Designer is responsible for preparing and maintaining engineering or sustaining project design layouts, production drawings and other related documentation per ANSI/ Schlumberger standards, considering methods of manufacture and tolerance and their effect on related parts or assemblies.

  • Function as a design engineer for routine/correction.
  • Prepare average complexity original mechanical layouts using the CAD system.
  • Depending on seniority, use the CAD system to prepare and maintain highest complexity mechanical and average complexity electrical and electronic product and production drawings and other related documentation from layouts, sketc.hes or verbal instructions.
  • Be responsible for accuracy of assignments, except for design features that are the responsibility of the project engineer.
  • Understand ANSI/Schlumberger drafting methods, standards and procedures.
  • Understand Schlumberger manufacturing processes and techniques, and interpretation of ANSI/Schlumberger standards and procedures.
  • Possesses basic knowledge of the mechanical and, depending on the seniority, partial to total knowledge of the electrical and electronic Product Line.
  • Maintain status reports on all projects assigned.

Education:

  • The Designer should hold a technical certification or diploma in a relevant design discipline (e.g., electrical design, drafting, or engineering technology).

 

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working on electrical scopes within Hyperscale Data Center Modules or a similar industrial environment.
  • Proven ability to produce clear and accurate drawings and sketches to communicate design concepts.
  • Experience in high-density data centers and hyperscale infrastructure.
  • Solid understanding of the purpose and function of electrical systems in facility environments.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including but not limited to:
    • IEC – International Electrotechnical Commission
    • IBC – International Building Code
    • OSHA – Occupational Safety and Health Administration
    • NEC – National Electric Code
    • NFPA – National Fire Protection Association
  • Extensive experience utilizing design and modeling tools such as:
    • AutoCAD
    • SolidWorks
    • Navisworks Manager / Freedom
    • Autodesk Revit
    • Autodesk BIM 360
  • Mastery knowledge and proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Office 365 Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
    • PDF Editor (Adobe, Foxit, or other equivalent)
    • Solid Works
    • Autodesk AutoCAD
    • Navisworks Manager / Freedom
  • Operational knowledge in:
    • SAP (ERP Tool w/ Engineering Modules and Transactions)
    • Autodesk Revit
    • Autodesk BIM 360
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving challenges.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects independently in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Highly adaptable to shifting priorities and capable of seamless task switching.
