The Industrial Relations Representative is responsible for serving as the focal point for issues relating to trade unions, union negotiations, staff discipline and grievances handling; employee relations support; and relationships with third parties. The Industrial Relations Representative works closely with the GeoMarket Human Resources (HR) Manager, Operations managers, staff and external individuals, groups and organizations.
- Monitor changes in labor laws and make recommendations as necessary.
- Foster relationships with trade unions and ensure compliance with union laws and constitution.
- Coordinate with third parties in workplace industrial relations.
- Advise HR and line management on staff disciplinary procedures.
- Keep abreast of developments in Industrial Relations practice and get involved in employee counseling and coaching to achieve continuous improvement in labor/management relations.
- Form labor policy, oversee industrial labor relations, negotiate collective bargaining agreements, and coordinate grievance procedures to handle complaints resulting from disputes with unionized employees.
- Interpret and administer contracts with respect to grievances, wages and salaries, employee welfare, healthcare, pensions, union and management practices, and other contractual stipulations.
- Comply with Schlumberger standards and policies.
- Help coach and develop new team members.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with Data Privacy and Protection Guidelines and relevant legislation.
