ChampionX has immediate and future hiring needs for a Training Specialist I to support site operations by enhancing workforce capability, communication, and compliance. What You Will Do:
Training Delivery
- Facilitate engaging, interactive training sessions using modern techniques such as simulations, role play, video, and digital tools
- Lead training sessions confidently while partnering with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) for technical accuracy
- Present on camera for training videos and microlearning content
- Select appropriate delivery methods (in-person, virtual, blended) based on training needs
Instructional Design & Content Creation
- Develop training materials, videos, scripts, assessments, and job aids using multimedia and AI-supported tools
- Apply adult learning principles, including Bloom’s Taxonomy and multimodal learning strategies
- Translate complex technical topics into clear, engaging, and easy-to-understand content
- Validate all training materials with SMEs to ensure accuracy and effectiveness
Competency, Retention & Compliance
- Design and execute retention-focused learning strategies to improve workforce capability
- Track and report training KPIs, including completion rates, assessment performance, and competency levels
- Define and measure employee proficiency levels (qualified, experienced, expert)
- Maintain accurate training records, dashboards, and audit-ready documentation
Communication & Collaboration
- Serve as a liaison between employees, SMEs, supervisors, and leadership
- Gather feedback and ensure timely follow-up with appropriate stakeholders
- Support leadership with clear, concise communication, updates, and summaries
- Improve site-wide communication clarity by simplifying technical information
- Participate in plant meetings, Management of Change (MOC) processes, and project discussions
Innovation & Technology
- Leverage AI tools for note-taking, content creation, and training development
- Produce multimedia training using video editing tools and in-house production setups
- Introduce innovative alternatives to traditional training methods
- Utilize advanced technologies such as simulations, drones, and immersive learning tools
Position Details:
- Work Environment: On-site, supporting plant operations
- Ability to support various shifts and training schedules as needed
- Occasional travel may be required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, Psychology, Education/Adult Learning, Human Resources, or related field
- 3 years of experience in training, facilitation, communications, education, or organizational learning
- Strong presentation and public speaking skills, including comfort presenting to live audiences and on camera
- Experience developing training materials and applying adult learning principles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, energy, logistics, or chemical environments
- Background in instructional design, adult learning, organizational psychology, or communication studies
- Familiarity with OSHA/SHE compliance training
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or training databases
- Proficiency with technology, AI tools, video editing, and multimedia production
- Strong time management, adaptability, and problem-solving skills
Physical Demands:
- May be required to move throughout a plant or operational environment
- Occasional lifting, standing, and walking may be required
- Role may be subject to safety requirements and site-specific protocols
