What You Will Do:
Production Chemistry:
Monitor chemical programs at all North Slope facilities with a diverse background of technical knowledge and experience and focus on continuous improvement of current chemical applications.
Monitor separation efficiency at each facility and recommend chemical, procedural, and mechanical improvements to the processes.
Monitor the chemistry of produced fluids, anticipate associated problems, and recommend best-in-class solutions.
Monitor facility utility systems and recommend required chemical maintenance.
Constantly work to remain experts in best-in-class chemical technology and application.
Act as the single point of contact (SPOC) for all production chemistry issues.
On-site Problem Solving:
Utilize pro-active problem-solving skills as production challenges become apparent.
Coordination of activities within the North Slope Production Chemistry team. Assist operations with implementation of the recommended chemical programs.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of current and planned production facilities.
Chemical Program Control:
Accountable for the implementation and execution of chemical programs.
Support continuous improvement of the chemical programs with a focus on product development and testing.
Conduct daily coordination meetings to align field operations.
Perform site inspections and field tours to assess operational conditions.
Execute inventory audits at chemical injection points.
Monitor and regulate dosage levels at injection sites to ensure optimal performance.
Collect production fluid samples and perform laboratory testing for chemical treatment performance analysis.
Compile and submit comprehensive daily technical and economic performance reports
Communication & Account Management:
Maintain relationships and communicate with project manager, management, research and development, marketing, corrosion engineers, materials coordinator and the other production chemists.
Maintain relationships and communicate with key customer personnel.
Maintain relationships and communicate with operations, management, and engineering groups.
Maintain relationships and communicate with design groups and provide the required information to best utilize chemical management solutions.
Ensure North Slope contract requirements are met
Schedule and complete business reviews with key customer personnel
Train and develop field production chemistry team members
Act as leaders through actions and professionalism.
Support a culture of “Zero Defect” in HSE performance.
Drive business and technical performance improvements with the use of a performance management system.
Work within a multi-functional team that assesses the plant integrity via direct inspection, corrosion and process monitoring, and applies control measures through the deployment of corrosion and process chemicals.
Develop measures to maintain integrity through applied corrosion control techniques and repair.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
Position Details:
Rotational schedule: 14 days on, 14 days off
Up to 50% overnight travel required to support sales territory
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related field
5 years' experience in the oil and gas industry, working as a Production Chemist in an operating company or relevant service company
Production Chemistry technical skills across the full life cycle of field appraisal, development operation and decommissioning
Prior experience interpreting and analyzing data for exploration and appraisal fluids in order to identify potential flow assurance and production chemistry risks
Ability to analyze and review equipment performance and failure histories to formulate a plan or design change to enhance cost effective performance and correct repetitive failures
Integrity management skills including an understanding of the main corrosion mechanisms experienced in carbon and stainless steels and common non-ferrous alloys
An established track record with project management and in working with multi-discipline teams to resolve complex process chemistry problems
Experience of Chemical Management Service (CMS) principles and objectives

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Chemistry or related field
Extensive knowledge of production chemicals used in the oil industry and how they interact with oilfield materials and fluids
Exposure to ancillary operations such as drilling, well service work, pipeline operations
Excellent problem-solving skills and experience in troubleshooting and fault-finding operational problems in a technical support capacity
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a multidiscipline team contributing leadership for team personnel
Team player with a clear track record of responsibility for execution and delivery of complex problems in a team context
Excellent organizational, planning and prioritizations skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to train and develop team members
